We would like to invite you to the second annual "Ride to the Wall...Southern Style" event leaving
Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Harley-Davidson on May 22nd, Thursday morning, and ride with a police
escort to Don Tilley's Tilley Harley-Davidson in Statesville, N.C. On May 23rd, Friday morning, we
will continue to Washington DC to join the 21st Rolling Thunder event. All of the riding will be police
escorted from Daytona to the doorstep of the Radisson Hotel in Washington.
Riders will arrive on May 21st at Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Harley-Davidson for food, music, prizes
and a pre-ride party. The morning of May 22th Volusia County Sheriff’s Office will lead the group to
the Florida/Georgia boarder where the Savannah/Chatham Police Department will pick up the group and
lead them through the great state of Georgia. Savannah Harley-Davidson will host us for an excellent
site down lunch around noon. At the boarder in South Carolina the Charleston County Sheriffs Office
will lead the riders through the Palmetto state to the North Carolina boarder where the Iredell Sheriff’s
Office will take the group to Tilley's in Statesville, N.C.completing the first stage of
the ride. That night Tilley’s Harley-Davidson will put on a “Pig Pickin” second to none with
music, prizes and partying. The next morning the Iredell Sheriff’s Office will lead us with the
help of the Virginia State Police through North Carolina and Virginia, with a stop at Shenandoah
Harley-Davidson for a delicious lunch and then right to our Washington DC host hotel, the
Radisson Inn Reagan Airport. Riders from areas in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina,
North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia will join up with the group at the gas stops
along the route. Sunday morning we will ride to the Pentagon parking lot along with
300,000 plus other bikers, to stage for the parade ride to the Vietnam Memorial.
It is a time to honor all veterans and more so to honor the veterans that paid for
your freedom with the ultimate price of their life. Monday morning many
groups will head home in different ways. The Iredell Sheriff’s Officers will
lead some of us via the interstate back to North Carolina.
Others will head home down I-95.
